Horse Goes to the Dentist

Horse Goes to the Dentist

Here’s a funny clip we made from a story we did at a horse retirement farm in England. This clip is about a horse going to the dentist.

But on a serious note where do old work horses go to retire?

Well, some of the lucky ones spend their days at the Home of Rest for Horses, set in the idyllic rolling Chiltern hills of Buckinghamshire, England.

The Home has been a horse retirement haven for more than a century.

Here, elderly equines enjoy peace and quiet after a life of hard work. It’s a registered charity where the public can visit free of charge.

The home of Rest for Horses was originally established in 1886 and was the idea of a woman called Miss Ann Lindo. She was inspired by the book Black Beauty written by Anna Sewell. She could see there was a need for somewhere for horses to rest after their hard labours on the city streets of London, pulling cabs; and in the fields of England’s farms.

Today, there are more than 110 horses living here, who enjoy the countryside and the companionship of each other. There are some very famous horses living here including one that belong to the Queen of England. But that’s another stoy.

For now sit back and have a giggle at this story of the horse that went to the dentist.
